Celebrating World Environment Day

Celebrating World Environment Day

Today ( June 5), Lha collaborated with the Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA) and the Clean Upper Dharamsala Programme (CUDP) to observe World Environment Day. The programme started at 10am, where students from the nearby Dharamshala Cantonment School marched around the market to make the public aware of the environmental issues.

This programme was followed by a skit play by Arts Salad. There were around 150 participants, including nearly 100 volunteers, students and staff member members of Lha.

We have distributed brochures on how to manage waste material in three languages: Tibetan, Hindi and English. Today’s project focused on a Mass Clean-up in three main areas: the Tipa Road while Women’s Association and Clean Upper Dharamshala have done cleaning at Yongling Campus and the Tushita Road and the Yongling School area.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who took part in this project and a special thanks to our partner organizations, the Tibetan Women’s Association and Clean Upper Dharamshala Programme, for collaborating with us and making this event much bigger than our thought. Thank you! Please keep our city Clean and Green!
